hangover cure: stuffed french bread pizzas

Ouch. After celebrating my husband’s birthday this weekend we were in rough shape (a switch flips when you hit 30, amiright?), so I wanted to make something for Sir Dave that would make him feel better. These pizzas were the ticket – easy to make and totally indulgent.

Ingredients:
1 large french bread loaf
1 package spicy sausage
1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
1 green pepper, chopped
1/3 cup vidalia onion, chopped
1 small can sliced black olives
1 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
1 bag shredded mozzarella or italian cheese
Pizza sauce
*Obviously these are just the ingredients I like, but whatever you like on your pizza, toss it in there!

Cook the sausage until browned. Chop all ingredients (I even slice the pepperoni into smaller pieces) and mix in a bowl with the ricotta – I also toss in 1/2 cup of the shredded cheese to make extra gooey!

Preheat the oven to 350. Cut the french bread into 3 pieces, then cut those in half so you have 6 equal pieces. Scoop out the insides so you have little shells to stuff full of yummy-ness. Coat the french bread with pizza sauce then STUFF them full of the ricotta mixture – they will be slightly overflowing (that’s not a bad thing). Top with shredded cheese and bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is melted and they are heated through. Top with crushed red pepper and say toodle-oo to that irritating Bday hangover!
